Children who are exhibiting challenging behavior need interactions with calm, clear-headed adults. In order to effectively support children, teachers and other adults in their lives must learn how to monitor their own reactions and responses to project calm. That means adults must practice self-care as well as have “in the moment” strategies for getting calm themselves. Here are some tools and ideas.
